BlackBerry news can come from some unusual sources. According to the Harrods app for iOS, the BlackBerry P‘9981 smartphone has been released exclusively at Harrods, London, in a unique colour. The Harrods app explains that:
[In] January, iconic luxury brand Porsche Design [launched] a new look smartphone, exclusively at Harrods. The Porsche Design P‘9981 from Blackberry consists of a stainless steel frame cased in black plastic with a hand-applied leather backing. Additional highlights include a special black QWERTY keyboard and a crystal-clear touch-screen display. Just like the first P’9981, the black version features an exclusive user interface and an exclusive BBM PIN. The choice of materials and sophisticated black design are typical hallmarks of Porsche Design.
What’s interesting to note about this announcement is that the P‘9981 comes with a “unique BBM pin”. What could be unique about it I wonder… A few digits to indicate the exclusivity of the device it belongs to? An unusual character (that isn’t alphanumeric)? If anyone has the P’9981 could you please confirm what is unique about its BBM pins?
Although the P‘9981 has been available for sometime in another colour way, this exclusive to Harrods edition sports a unique black colour. I must say it is far more appealing than the original. What do you think?
The exclusive Porsche design BlackBerry P’9981 is available at Harrods, London from £1,390 now.
