Doro have today unveiled their latest handset which comes in the shape of the very simplistic candybar named the PhoneEasy 506.
For those of you that don’t quite know much about Doro, they are a company which focus’s on the user of the phone before the features of the phone and their main market is the elderly however they also provide handsets and software for people with a disability or perhaps those who just like things made as simple as they can be without the niceties that todays world throws at technology.
Spec wise the Doro Easy Phone 506 is nothing spectacular however like I mentioned, they are not trying to be that type of handset.

Introducing the Doro PhoneEasy 506
Compact designoffering style, function and exceptional value
Doro is pleased to reveal its latest feature phone – the Doro PhoneEasy 506. The latest addition to the Doro portfolio has been designed to introduce mobile technology in a great user-friendly package to an audience who feel somewhat alienated by today’s complex devices. This handset intends to help people in their journey with technology and serves as a first step into the connected world.
This new handset is built on Doro’s core DNA and comes with all the design features that have made the company synonymous with easy mobiles globally.
Chris Millington, Managing Director of Doro UK and Ireland, commented on the launch: “Our new feature phone offers a high quality mobile at an affordable price point. We have purposely not over-crammed this phone with unwanted functions, to ensure it offers value, but does not compromise on quality or style.”
The Doro PhoneEasy 506 is ergonomically designed and features large, concave, well-spaced keys. The screen is large and bright, with the option of adjusting text size and contrast settings. Three direct memory keys, and a direct SMS key, enable quick and easy operation. Charging is by Doro’s uniquely designed micro USB that has been specifically adapted to be easy to grip. The device’s menu system is intuitive and easy to navigate. Users have the option of hiding unwanted functions to further simplify and personalise their mobile experience. Doro’s start-up wizard also facilitates a trouble-free set up meaning that users can have a positive experience from the very outset.
"Doro has created the easy mobile segment and we work hard to stay at the forefront of the industry. We appreciate that whilst a growing number of our key audience want smart phones with applications, there are still many who do not. We are always looking at how we can improve all of our products and offer retail partners more choice when ranging their handsets. We have introduced this new model to offer an enhanced option to the user who simply wants their phone to be a phone. This is entry level best of breed!” Concluded Chris Millington of Doro.
