We have long wondered why Google Chrome hasn’t been integrated to Android and given us the features, benefits and fruits of the Google Chrome Browser. The fact that the Chrome team and Android team have never really worked together has baffled many for a long time now, a lot of people have been calling for it and one great product over all seems to have been staring them in the face. Well now it seems we could be seeing what we have wanted since the incarnation of Android and that is an Android Chrome Browser.
According to a developer post, Google have built the Browser target for the famous desktop browser to Android. Spread across all platforms we could see a powerful tool that can be utilized and push Google’s products even further than it already is.
Google will soon unify its browser platform across Android, Chrome OS, Windows, Linux and Mac OS platforms. Last Monday, Google posted the build target revision for Android.
The user interface itself was compiled last Saturday, We see that it indicates that it will utilize the Skia 2D engine that Google has already ready and a Java bridge also in the popular Webkit based browser.
The chromium log which you can find here: Google Chrome to Android also suggests that Chrome for Android will be a mobile browser will be almost the same as the browser we know on desktop so well. That’s fantastic news as we likely see all the features we love on Google Chrome as well as more regular updates, better security and much more faster evolution across all platforms integrating well.
Could we also be seeing the Chrome web store in with the Chrome browser? that would be pretty neat with extensions that we love being brought over the Android to help our browsing experience a much more joyful one. Don’t forget also that we have also yet to see a significant browser experience that stands out on Android tablets. We also see Google could integrate this interesting development, they have been working on a video game interface in Chrome with NaCl 3D and ideas such as Joystick API to bring us a great gaming experience on all platforms. That would be an exciting prospect with tablets a key factor in this i feel and widespread Google Chrome experience including gaming, extensions, tight security and integrated features on ever platform.
Exciting times again on the horizon at Google and Android with the October 11th Samsung unpacked event being touted as when it could be announced alongside the “Nexus Prime” and Ice Cream Sandwich.
