Tonight renound ROM chef, hacker and developer Cottula (@CottulaCode) released updated images of his ongoing port of Windows 8 RT onto the ever versatile HTC HD2. The images show various aspects of the OS and apps running on the low resolution screen, but all adjusted to fit. In parts the apps almost look like they come from Windows Phone 8 rather than the RT version of the full OS.
Along with the images Cattula also states that not only does the interface run well, but there is no overlapping or graphical artefacts. Starting IE is estimated to take around six seconds. No info has been given on exactly how far along the port is, but the fact it is booting is amazing in itself.
As the old saying goes, HD2’s don’t die, they just move on to the next OS.
