OK so my title is a little off considering that Google Air technically doesn’t exist though you can’t deny it’s a damn cool name right?
According to a post over on SlashGear, San Jose city council officials will meet later this month to discuss a deal that would see Google operate an Airline out of the San Jose Airport using an area of the airport which is currently used as for parking.
The deal which, between two private companies, could be worth a cool $82 million would give Google a 29-acre plot which would house the planes as well as a main airport ticketing / baggage and general boarding area.
Google currently have their own aircraft which is used for ferrying company employees around the world however if this deal goes through then who knows, you could well be looking at flying Google Air in the future.
Do you think Google are going too far now?
