Continuing on from the success of the EOS ICS & JB roms, Team EOS present to you EOS4, based on JELLYBEAN MR1!
Early in December TeamEOS let loose to the Motorola Xoom MZ604 community EOS4 Jelly Bean MR1. This was a major update from the ICS EOS3, which is still being use today. Now as all JB users will know it is a big update from ICS and the speed and smoothness that it brings to the Xoom is really amazing. In late, very late December, Developer BigRushDog told us to expect a new release early in the new year. What followed was a release on the 2nd January quickly followed by two more nighties on the 3rd and 4th. Included was a new gapps package solely for the Xoom, version 201311.
Now my Xoom feels like I have a new tablet, purring in my hands not, a two year old device chugging along like an old jalopy running on 3 cylinders, that some users would have ditched for a new model long ago.
We know that manufactures can only make money by bringing out faster, lighter, all singing-and-dancing devices, to woo the consumers, but looking at these ‘old’ devices on XDA, you can breath new life into them.
But I must say that over at XDA-Developers forum, there are hundreds of guys and gals modding away on just about every phone/tablet on the market, and doing fantastic work. Just one sideline to to this is the amount of posts asking the same damned question. 934 posts on EOS4 thread already and, there must be at least 150 that ask the same question when, a little search would reveal the answer!
Now the JB MR1 is a work of art by all the team who have overcome obstacles to give us this awesome ROM, and deserve much praise. On a device that Motorola said was not designed for Jelly Bean, wonder how they’re are feeling now?
