Mobile Fun have confirmed that RIM’s new flagship handset will be the Blackberry Z10 – if you were in any doubt about the name. The device isn’t expected to be fully revealed until the RIM event on the 30th of January.
The Z10 is RIM’s first new handset of the year in an attempt to turn over a new leaf after what appeared to be a difficult year for the company. The device will run the newest Blackberry OS, Blackberry 10. RIM are hoping this will get them the number three spot next to Android and iOS.
- Dual core Snapdragon S4 processor – 1.5 GHz
- Hspa+ and LTE connectivity
- 4.2″ 1280 X 768 display
- 16GB of internal storage
- 1800 mAh removable battery
Although this is all that’s leaked so far this does put it in a very similar performance bracket as the HTC One X, but will this be enough for the struggling company?
Blackberry 10 looks to bring a complete overhaul on the interface and a huge focus around the keyboard and correcting mistakes. Also RIM are looking to add video calling to the ever popular BBM. We should also see a new app store with 70,000+ apps – not as many as Android or iOS but still a good start and a step in the right direction.
Mobile Fun seem to be supporting the new flagship handset and have a range of Blackberry Z10 accessories available for pre-order on the website. They have three cases available in various colours all ranging at about £15 – no images available as of yet. Click here for more.
