Over on Google+ tonight XDA Elite Recognized Developer Adam Outler raised the question: Why do some settings use check boxes and some use on/off? Both are boolean true/false. Why the inconsistency?
To be honest I had no idea myself and had never really looked at it close enough to question it however after reading that it got me questioning the same and thanks to Ravi Shankar we now know the answer and it was interesting enough that I thought I would share it here too.
The answer is pretty straight forward, where there is an On / Off switch you can expect another menu when you click the text on the left of it however if it’s a tick box then expect it just to do what it says.
Simples really when you think about it.
