Apple made iOS 6.1 beta 5 available via the Dev Centre to registered members late last night in an effort to give developers something to upgrade to before beta 4 expires tonight (Sunday).
Interestingly, the update doesn’t appear to have a requirement for the device to be registered as a development device to be installed. Does this mean the iOS 6.1 GM is close? Or have Apple just pushed this out quickly to avoid a potential headache?Either way I don’t recommend sourcing this and installing it if you’re not a developer.
If the GM is ready to go then it would make sense for Apple to seed this build just now and then the GM on a weekday when they are able to provide a fuller support to customers.
