Windows Phone 8 SMS Bugs – Resending a Message and Sending More Than 160 Characters to Multiple People

Picture the scene, you have moved to Windows Phone 8 and after importing all your contacts you remember you have have a new phone number and decide to message all your contacts to let them know …

  1. Open your message app and begin typing your message (needs to be more than 160 Characters).
  2. Click the + symbol to add recipients to your message (select at least 10).
  3. Send the message.

It would seem that the message now fails with an MMS 225 error. This is because the messaging app is trying to sent the message as an MMS and even though you have MMS details in your message settings it would seem that you can’t send this message and there is no way for you to change the settings to default for SMS.

Now, the other issue on top of this one is that there is no possible way to resend the message. You will need to re-type it and go under 160 characters if you want to send to multiple people or if you want to send to just one person then you can with as many characters as you wish.

Now that you know this bug exists, we would be interested to see if you too get the same error.

Note: This has been tested on an HTC 8X only
