Although our team members are generally not fans of Apple, we do take notice when a flash mob of protesters descend on an Apple store waving “Wake Up” signs and top Android manufacturer Samsung is blamed. A week ago we published the news that Samsung was the prime suspect due to today’s upcoming handset announcement and the similar nature of the advertising in the past.
Samsung denied any involvement, and speculation continued until it was revealed at the annual Blackberry World conference in Orlando on Tuesday that the “wake up” event was part of a larger plan to promote Blackberry 10 devices.
Considering the amount of market share RIM has been losing, it could be said that they should have woken up to how smartphones where evolving a long time ago.
