I came across this product the other week and ordered it the second I saw it, I love to try something new, and I hate normal screen protectors (they look ugly and often make the screen less responsive than it should be).
But this was something new, something exciting.
What it is
Basically it is a wipe you apply to your screen that is meant to act the same as a physical screen protector.
Here is the exact info from Clove:
Liquid Glass is a revolutionary new product from Crystalusion. Essentially an eco-friendly alternative to a screen protector, Liquid Glass is made of silica molecules, the main compound of glass and the most abundant mineral on Earth, suspended in ethanol. When applied to your device, the silica molecules naturally bond forming an ultra thin (100 nanometre) barrier against dirt, dust, oil, fingerprints, abrasions and bacteria.
As Liquid Glass only uses Silica molecules it is great for humans having been certified as food safe and also for the environment, unlike other screen protection technologies that use non biodegradeable plastics. The unique nature of the coating also provides antimicrobial protection as bacteria find it especially difficult to replicate on the surface. Hospitals in the UK have been using the technology and it has received the ‘NHS Smart Solutions Award’.
The box contains two sachets. Inside the first is an ethanol wipe to clean your device. The second contains the Liquid Glass wipe which should be used on your device until dry. The fantastic thing about this is that Liquid Glass can be used on any device of any shape without the potential or bubbles like traditional screen protectors. It can also protect the casing, not just the screen of the device. Liquid Glass can also find its way into small scratches that may already be present to minimise their appearance. Once applied Liquid Glass is invisible to the naked eye and your device will only ever need the quickest of wipe downs to look like new.
Think of this like an invisible screen protector. It does the same job, with the need to re-coat every 6-12 months, like you would with a screen protector.

How to apply
You receive two wipes with this product, one is labelled ‘cleaner’ the other is not (they are also in two different coloured packets).
What you have to do is use the cleaning wipe to wipe your screen. It is pretty wet, however, this was not a problem. The instructions tell you to wait two minutes for it to dry, and dry it did.
When you are happy that your screen is properly clean (no finger marks, oil marks, dust etc) and that it is dry, you can then use the second wipe, this is the protector itself.
The instructions say you use this second wipe until it is dry, in my experience this took a very very long time (so long in-fact I ended up using it on my Nexus 7 as well as my Note 2, although strictly speaking it is meant to only be one wipe per device).
You then have to wait, it says you have to not touch the screen at all for 5 minutes, then you can use light touches, but it advises you don’t use it at all for the full 12 hours if you can help it.
12 hours without a device is not easy, but you don’t want to ruin what you are trying to achieve do you!
The end result
Well I was worried that after an hour my screen was looking slightly streaky, but I didn’t panic and let it do its thing. I went to sleep, when I woke up the 12 hours had finished passing and to my surprise the screen looked very clear, and shiny, not really any noticeable difference to the eye that anything was there at all, however you can feel a slight difference with your finger, also two scratches I had (they were fairly deep ones, but small in size) on my Nexus 7 (they were not on the actual screen space, just the glass) have gone! Given these were pretty deep imagine what it would do with light surface scratches! I was very impressed to say the least.
As I have said above to the naked eye you cannot tell that anything is on the screen, this is good as it doesn’t make your phone look ugly, or distort anything that the phone is displaying. The phone is no thicker, and although it feels slightly different to the touch it works 100% as expected, and that includes with the s-pen on my Galaxy Note 2.
As far as actual protection goes, only time will tell but the instant feeling is that this is a product worth using and certainly one that can match most screen protectors out there, the benefits certainly outweigh the negatives.
I would recommend that everyone considers this product, even if you like to use standard style screen protectors, or even if you never use anything, it’s a worthy investment in my opinion.
