Here’s a quick app for developers. It’s called adbWireless and it allows you to use the Android Debug bridge over WiFi without having to plug in any cables. However, only rooted users will be able to use this.
The app is very simple to use and even includes a widget. When pressing on the big button, you get a notification telling you where to run your command. In the app it gives you exactly what to type into a terminal on your computer to connect. Using it myself, it’s great as I don’t need to carry cables everywhere, as long as there’s some WiFi between my laptop and phone, I’m covered. However, when the WiFi network gains a lot of traffic, the app also slows down especially when deploying APKs, as it can take a little longer than just plugging in a wire.
Some people with non-standard networks/WiFi chips may experience issues, but that is not the app’s fault and it can’t do anything about that.
Nice to have if you’re a developer and hate being constricted by wires! No crashes at all, and I’ve used this app for quite a while!
