Evening guys! More of a heads up more than anything. This “app” has just come up as an update on my samsung galaxy s2. With no knowledge to me having such an app installed, after a bit of investigating and others feeding back the same via Twitter, this is rumoured to be a bit of spam/virus knocking around from a while ago; comments show this was early last year but no actual proof of this. It isn’t actually showing as an application on the device so I would advise anyone confused by this not to press update. Same principle of you wouldn’t open an e-mail attachment from someone you didn’t know, especially as this is entirely in russian so you don’t know what your updating too.
My device is set to auto update on apps but luckily whatever this is failed. Whilst this is showing as an update it would be wise to switch auto update apps off in your settings.
Will keep you guys up to date as and if we find out more on this and what this is!
UPDATE: OJSC Mobile Telesystems or MTS are a Russian telecoms company, this should only apply to Russian customers, isn’t a virus as the comments on the app say or rumoured online just an incorrect link that has come through on the market place. So pretty safe to ignore this and don’t update.
