Back last year a judge found HTC guilty of infringing on two Apple patents. HTC said they would modify new handsets to avoid the infringement and this is how.
The patents are around how the iPhone gives you a list of commands when you tap on a phone number or contact. SO for example pressing on the name or number and an option menu popping up offering options such as Message, Phone, E-mail etc. HTC Android phone’s have a similar function which was grounds for the the infringement.
Apparantly HTC’s latest phones (only the US versions for the moment) have gotten rid of this feature . Now when you press on a name or number it automatically takes you to the dialler, you can change the default press option in the settings of course but it’s not as easy as it once was. Although saying that some people may prefer this change.
