At Land of Droid we are always on the lookout for new Team Members to join us. Some of them have come and gone since we went live 8 month ago however today we are very proud to welcome Patrick Hill who some of you may know from dev circles or XDA developers as graffixnyc.
Here is a few words from “the new guy” and “tea maker”
I have always been into electronics, gadgets and technology ever since I can remember. I was never satisfied turning on a switch and having something turn on. I always wanted to know what happened when you turned that switch. I always would tear open gadgets and computers especially after they died to see their inner workings. It’s only natural that I landed in the IT world. I studied programming and systems and have worked as a professional programmer since late 1998. I have been a "phone geek" since 1995 and got into Android devices in January of 2011. I remember being very nervous about giving up my Crackberry but once I made the switch I never looked back. Android satisfies my curious technological nature. It allows me to hack it, and modify it to my liking.
Before I got into Android I had lost passion for programming since it was something I did on a daily basis for "the man" but Android has revived that passion I once had for programming and development. I now find myself programming once again for fun, something I haven’t done in quite sometime.
In my spare time I’m also a Bass guitarist and have recorded and toured the country playing with a few different bands. I’m currently endorsed by Spector basses, an accomplishment I am quite proud of.
My new found passion is tech writing. I just started doing it with Land of Droid and really enjoy it! It gives me a chance to talk about one of the things I love the most… technology
