If you after a new smartphone running the latest version of Android which is a mid-to-high-end device you could do a lot worse than the Huawei Ascend P1. Huawei have upped their game quite a bit with their latest handset for international markets. The release date should at some point in the next couple of months. Pre-order prices are starting to appear across European retailers.
The Ascend P1 is priced at Amazon Germany and Unieuro Italy at around €450 or £365/$565 placing it in the same sort of banding as HTC’s One X in pricing terms. The hardware specs are very similar to the One S so the pricing makes sense. This does sort of mark the start of Huawei’s big play for the higher end market.
