At Land of Droid we like to stay in touch and interact with the Android Community, you know the people that make it go round as the best community out there in the tech world. Well one LOD avid follower and supporter has been getting stuck in and learning about the world of custom roms.
Philicibine who has been around the Android scene for a while now has cooked up a CM9 Kang for the HP TouchPad. If you was lucky enough to get one of those devices in the fire sale last year you will know that you can now run Android Ice Cream Sandwich on the original WebOS tablet.
This is Philicibine’s first rom so be nice and here at Land of Droid we fully support one of our loyal followers and supporters. Comprising CyanogenMod 9 and modifying it with a few fixes that include a working Wifi fix, cool additions and pieces of his own.
He has also been busy as chef in the kitchen cooking up his own kernel as well. It has been set to a default CPU speed of 1.5ghz and the default governor to ondemand. Also adding HAVS support, this rom has been hitting antutu benchmarks over 6000 so expect a nippy offering here from the first time chef.
To get a hold of this Kang offering from Philicibine then head on over to the XDA thread with the links below. You will also find a full description of the rom and here at Land of Droid we will also be mirroring the rom to support him get it out to as many users as possible without issues.
