Yes folks you heard right! Facebook has today announced it is releasing it’s own app store. It plans on bringing the best Android apps, iOS apps, web apps and mobile web apps intact every type of app to it’s 900 million users. This includes free and paid apps. The app store sounds to be similar too most to be honest, with app ratings being determined by users. Facebook will, however, be gathering data on how often users use the apps and how long they stay on it, which also plays into the overall application’s quality rating. The scoring data will only be made available to developers.
This is probably a good move for Facebook and a great way to make more revenue as you couldn’t ask for a bigger market when your a social network with 900 million users now could you?
