Yup, you thought AirPush was bad? Think again! This company have come up with something EVEN WORSE, placing ads in when you’re calling someone.
So now, instead of just ads you can flick away, you “agree” (some apps might not even include an option) to hear this adverts when you decide to call someone instead of the ringing tone. Bit annoying, and could possibly cause some horrible situations. Watch the video to see how they work
Yeah, pretty nasty! It’s an interesting concept, but it’s not nice to hear advertisers blurting to you’re waiting to talk to someone, and then at the end of the call ask you interact. It even sounds like something The Onion would announce, and they actually did which could be where the idea came from.
Fair enough, only 10 seconds for an ad but that’s a little too much for me to listen to and I’d rather see better banner ads
The video also makes out that app developers just want to make millions of dollars with an application for free, well most of the talented app developers actually don’t like this kind of thing. (Even if you’re not a very good one, I would recommend against putting this in)
The SDK doesn’t even look too good, using stretched graphics and very limited actions on the after-call screen:
Also, many users will go crazy with the obvious permission required:
INTERCEPT OUTGOING CALLS
which technically allows them to do anything with your call.
