The Motorola Droid 3 is a beast of a Smartphone and packs some amazing specs, but is it the Motorola experience that you want? – Well it isn’t for many users and that means modding your phone to get a different approach with a custom rom.
Now the most popular rom out there is undoubtedly CyanogenMod7, and the first steps to getting it onto the Motorola Droid 3 have been made as shown below in the video.
Currently it is first steps as mentioned with nothing really working as of yet, but as described in the short video it shouldn’t be far away from getting a release out there for all you Droid 3 owners wanting some CM7.
It’s also worth mentioning that @Hashcode0f commented this –
Kevin forgot to mention that this isn’t booting off the primary /system partition. it’s actually using a 2nd-system boot from /preinstall, and the recovery he used to install the .zip file was customized to protect the original /system so that in theory a user can swap back and forth from MotoBlur to an installed ROM fairly easy.
Another bonus for you Droid 3 users if you want to go back to MotoBlur and take it back to it’s original state with ease of use and no complications.
So now just sit back and enjoy the video.
