Reliance communications has today launched their own branded Tablet device that is 3G ready and is powered by Google Android operating system thus becoming the first 3G telecom operator in India to venture in tablet space.
Reliance 3G Tablet is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread version and is priced at Rs. 12,999 that is about 40% lower than similar tablet device on the market.
To be sold under Reliance brand, the Reliance 3G Tablet is in fact custom manufactured by ZTE China for RCOM, and it sports 7-inch Capacitive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, and features 1GHz processor, 512-MB or internal memory (same as in iPad 2) and includes microSD card slot supporting up to 16GB of expandable memory.
Other features of this super economical Reliance 3G Tablet includes WiFi connectivity, built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support, mobile TV, MS documents on go allowing conveniently view and work with microsoft excel, word, powerpoint and PDF attachments, preinstalled Google apps, and Google Android Market access allowing over 175,000 free and paid Android apps.
The Reliance 3G tablet weight about 389 gms, which almost equals with Samsung Galaxy Tab’s 380 gms and is being offered by RCOM with up to 50 percent discounted 3G data plans across the board.
