That’s right you see the title and it is madness isn’t it. The big old dog of the yard Microsoft is racking up a fair few license deals right now with settlements with HTC, Samsung and many others.
It is reported by Goldman Sachs’s tech analyst team that Microsoft will be generating $444 Million in revenue from Android license deals in the 2012 fiscal year. The team also states that it is estimating they are getting in the region of $3-£6 per Android device sold. Adding $0.04 in EPS annually for Microsoft also.
It’s a small victory as Microsoft’s revenue is huge at an estimated $75 Billion and it’s EPS $2.68. The little amount of $444 Million is minuscule in comparison to what Android has done and is doing to Windows and their Smartphone arm of the business too, in short it’s beating it all over the ring.
It’s still pretty annoying that Microsoft are getting such big amounts of money per device from Android, it’s pretty much paying for WP7 in itself. Time will go on and more license deals will most certainly be made to benefit Microsoft, so you have to think what will it be like in 1, 2 or even 3 years.
