For some people this might not look like news worth reading however when you actually look at it on a larger scale and consider the Indian population this is a massive win for the Android O/S.
Indian Union Minister for Human Resource Development Kapil Sibal is about to launch the “$35 tablet” which appears to be the mid price rather than the actual price as students can pick up the tablet for $24 and ordinary consumers for $60.
There will also be a name change depending on which category you fit into above. If you are a student you will be buying the Aakash though if your a normal consumer then you are buying the Ubislate.
Lets just hope there are decent Dev’s out there that can get this WiFi only tablet opened up and running a more up to date O/S version. Hell, even if there aint and it doesn’t get upgraded, an Android tablet for $60 is still worth buying.
