Last night we should you a video clip of a possible leak of what’s to come with Ice Cream Sandwich. It was a 2 minute run through with things covering the camera, app drawer, Lockscreen, notifications, general UI which had that Honeycomb look and much more.
Over at XDA Developer Forums someone has come forward as being the anonymous owner of the Nexus S ICS installed Smartphone. A post that is now generating lots of interest now suggests that Google have remotely wiped the device clean. For the past few hours the owner has worked with well known and respected devs on XDA in a attempt to rescue and salvage any useful information and parts they can available.
Of course their is no solid evidence that this was completely real, but one developer named JCase is suggesting it is just that.
/System was unrecoverable.
Toolbox contains an applet that is capable of wiping /system, and there is a service that allows Google to use it remotely. His reports of its behaviour, and the condition of /system back this theory up. It was remote wiped.
That’s his theory and many agree with him that it is very strongly possible. With the impending Samsung/Google event around the corner it could very well be what we see with ICS and it’s user interface. It’s a big shame as it wasn’t any time to achieve getting a system dump or any recoverable data. Do you believe this is the next version of Android on smartphones and if so what do you think?.
