Even though Huawei originally said their 7 inch budget MediaPad device would launch in late 2011. After setbacks, Huawei’s UK division have said that the device will not launch until 2012.
Huawei have also given a price for the Wi-Fi only version, which is £275 excluding VAT, which equates to about £330 including VAT. Specs-wise, the device has a 7 inch screen, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.
The device does have a 7 inch IPS screen at a fairly high 1280 x 800 resolution and a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera.
Considering £330 could buy you a 10 inch Xoom and £270 can buy you a 10 inch Archos G9 tablet, this isn’t so appealing and is fairly disappointing, especially as it is from so-called budget manufacturer Huawei.
