Google have announced a brand spanking new update to the Google TV and it brings with it four main updates and the usual bug fixes and optimizations tweaks.
Below is what’s really made a difference.
- A much simpler, customizable interface, featuring an Android-like app tray.
- Improved search options for LiveTV, Netflix, YouTube, HBO GO, and more. A new TV & Moviesapp lets you browse through over 80,000 movies and shows.
- Improved YouTube experience built specifically for Google TV. YouTube is now more Integrated into GT search, allowing you to easily find nearly anything you want quicker.
- The Android Market with Apps!
Yes you see bottom one didn’t you, the Android Market. Well, it’s here at last officially, although with Android applications that require you to use touch or any normal interaction we are used to with our Smartphone’s will not be there obviously, but there is apparently fifty developers that have already got to work on building and crafting the apps for the GTV system. You’ll find a few in the Market already too right now and you can check them here – GTV Apps

This software update will be coming to Sony devices starting early next week and Logitech devices soon thereafter. We look forward in the coming months to announcing new software updates as well as new devices on new chipsets from multiple hardware partners.
