With Archos supposed to be releasing two tablets in October, they have a hit a bump in the road. Texas Instruments will not be able to hold up their end of the deal with their 1.5GHz OMAP 4 processors being pushed back next year, which were suppose to power the tablets. So what will they do now?
So the game-plan will be to use a lower 1.2 GHz dual-core processor for the initial release in October of the 10 inch tablet, then when the time comes for OMAP 4 processor to be ready they will release a new version of this tablet and they will also lower the lower-end tablet to 1GHz.
Still interested even though they will be a little slower, if you are interested in the lower-end, 8-inch Archos 80 G9 8GB with the 1GHz dual-core TI processor, it can be purchased right now for $300 from Archos.
