Google has update their chart that shows how many people are running what version of the device and things were just as we expected. Gingerbread is leading the group with 43% and Froyo still hanging in there strong with 40% which is not too good because they will soon be two versions behind.
The growth of Gingerbread is not very surprising because so many new devices have been released lately running Android 2.3. Those numbers will continue to rise as Froyo hopefully drops and Ice Cream Sandwich rises when it is released. Honeycomb is still very far back and I do not see it growing anytime soon as many tablets will be getting Android 4.0.
What shocks me is the people still rocking Android 1.5 and 1.6 while it still isn’t a lot of people it is shocking. For the full breakdown go here.
