Rumors have been circulating since last spring of the beast device that would kill the iPad and be the sequel to the nook color. Well according to Tech Crunch, who got the first hands on, this tablet it nothing special. It will be a let down to many people.
What we thought:
- 10 inch tablet
- Quad-core or Dual-core
- Wi-Fi and 3G version
What we know:
10 inch tablet7 inch tabet Quad-core or Dual-coreSingle core CameraNo Camera
- Wi-Fi only
and 3G version
- 6GB internal memory (not expandable)
- No hardware buttons
HoneycombBuilt from Froyo with heavy Amazon customization
- 2 point multi-touch
- No android market but will support android apps
The UI is reportedly mostly orange with accents of dark blue and black. Content is displayed on the main page in a manner similar to iTunes Cover Flow, with a favorites dock below
So we may not be recieving the beast everyone expected. We may see a 10 inch, running a dual core with 3G in Q1 of 2012 but as of now it will not happen. This will have all of Amazon’s features built in so it will rely heavily on the cloud and you will need an amazon account to acces just about everything.
Expect this device around late November and you can see a $250 price tag.
