Alcatel are a pretty much unknown company, as they normally make low end devices. They have made Android devices previously, but these are pretty low spec devices such as the One Touch 990, 980 and 908. Alcatel have obviously now become bored with making low-end handsets and are now instead making a higher end device, the Gingerbread running One Touch 995.
The handset features a 4.3 inch screen, 1.4GHz processor, 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera and has a custom made 3D launcher on top of Android 2.3.4.
The One Touch 995 is under an inch thick, and Alcatel aims for the device to cost 199 euros (about £172 or $275).
If you wondering whether it will see Android 4.0, Alcatel have promised that it will be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
If you fancy this handset then it is apparently due to launch in March or April 2012 just after the 2012 Mobile World Congress.
